Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of MAXXED ("the service", "we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using MAXXED you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

1. What MAXXED is

MAXXED is a customer rewards and review platform. You connect your bank account (read-only), spend at participating businesses, leave honest reviews, earn points, and compete for monthly prizes. Free and paid membership tiers are available.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and resident in the United Kingdom or Ireland to use MAXXED. The service is not currently available outside these jurisdictions. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account, and you must provide accurate information when signing up.

3. Membership and payments

  • Free membership — free forever. Includes reviews, points, bonus points and entry into the free monthly prize.
  • Paid membership£5 per month, billed monthly via Stripe.
  • Founding offer — the first 50 paid members get their first month free. After the free month, standard £5 per month billing applies unless cancelled.
  • Cancellation — you can cancel at any time from your wallet. Access to paid benefits continues until the end of the current billing period. No partial refunds for unused time.
  • By subscribing you also agree to Stripe's terms of service.

4. Points system

  • 1 point per £1 spent at participating businesses (verified via your linked bank or uploaded receipt).
  • +5 bonus points for leaving a star rating.
  • +10 bonus points for leaving a written review.
  • Points have no monetary value, cannot be exchanged for cash, and may be adjusted, expired or revoked where we detect misuse, fraud or breach of these Terms.
  • Monthly reset — all points balances reset to zero on the 1st day of each calendar month, after monthly prize winners are decided. Your prize eligibility is based on points earned during that month.

5. Stage badges

  • Stage 1 — 0 to 1,000 points
  • Stage 2 — 1,000 to 2,000 points
  • Stage 3 — 2,000+ points

6. Monthly prizes

  • Free members — the highest points earner among free users each month wins a £40 Amazon voucher.
  • Paid members — the top two paid members each month win a £100 and a £60 Amazon voucher respectively.
  • Winners are determined automatically from points earned in that calendar month. Vouchers are sent to the email address on the winning account within 14 days of the month ending.
  • We reserve the right to disqualify any entry we reasonably believe involves fraudulent activity, fake reviews, or any breach of these Terms.

7. Member rewards (paid members only)

  • 25% off your next month's membership after completing 30 reviews.
  • 2× points on every £1 spent between 30 and 70 reviews.
  • 3× points on every £1 spent at 70+ reviews.
  • Free members continue to earn the +5 / +10 bonus points but do not receive multipliers or membership discounts.

8. Reviews and complaints

You may only submit reviews and complaints that are honest, lawful and based on your own genuine experience. You must not post content that is defamatory, abusive, misleading, discriminatory or that infringes anyone's rights. We may remove content that breaches these Terms and may suspend or terminate accounts of users who repeatedly do so.

9. Bank account connection

Bank account connections are provided through TrueLayer, an FCA-authorised open-banking provider, under read-only permissions. MAXXED cannot move money, make payments, or change anything in your account. We use this access only to verify spend at participating businesses and award points accordingly. You can disconnect your bank at any time from your wallet.

10. Privacy and UK GDPR

We process your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and the UK GDPR / Data Protection Act 2018. You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to processing of your data, the right to data portability, the right to withdraw consent at any time, and the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

11. Acceptable use

You must not misuse the service, attempt to access it through automated means, interfere with its operation, attempt to manipulate the points or prize system, create multiple accounts, or use it for any unlawful purpose.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms. You may close your account at any time by contacting us. Any unredeemed points and any pending prize eligibility are forfeited on closure.

13. Liability

The service is provided "as is". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude liability for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

14. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Where changes are material we will give reasonable notice. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of its courts.
